Unexpected beauty, outdoors music

This morning when taking the children out for a bicycle ride we ended up at the quarry in Gullet Wood, Eastnor and there was a brass quintet playing Nimrod across the water.

Search Google maps to find some better images and it's location.

It was just prefect to hear Elgar's music played in a setting that he would have walked. I grabbed a couple of pictures with my phone camera.

George I wish you had been with us.

Jono,

Are you sure this was not a dream and you are not now posting from the other side?

That seems just so unreal kind of freaky man.

Brilliant though.

Very cool Jono. The quarries I visit are usually blasting.

Stu,

It was very unexpected and slightly other-worldly.

Mat,

There were chainsaws in the distance but the music drowned them out.

As it should be Jono. It looks like a great spot for a ride.

Lovely spot! That must've been quiet magical to chance upon....

How're you doing by the way?

Phil,

It was just so unexpected and delightful.

Still working in Barrow 4 days a week which is very dull.

Are you still at QQ? And working hard?

About 7 years ago my girlfriend, now wife, was living in Paris and we'd take turns to do the Eurostar journey to spend the weekend together every other week. On one of my trips to Paris we took a the train out to Fontainebleau and went walking in the woods there. After an hour or so the most unexpected sound of Scottish bagpipes started coming through the trees and though our walk took us close to the piper and he played for as long as we were within earshot we never did catch sight of him. He was very good too.
