Artwork no longer displayed
Posted by: Jorrocks on 04 August 2012
Since upgrading to Mac Lion my artwork is no longer displayed in Nstream 3.0 using Playback UPnP to my SuperUniti. Any ideas please? (I'm getting the "Playback" logo where the artwork should be.)
Hi, can you check you're playback preferences and see if the option "generate quick look thumbnails for" Music is selected? It's found under the "sharing" options.
Hi AntonD,
Thanks very much. Yes' I've found this and it was checked. So I've unchecked the Videos & Photos boxes to see if this makes any difference. The old version used to work fine. Do you have a similar set up?
Thanks again and I'll let you know how I get on.
No, still not working!
My setup is similar to yours. iMac running Lion, Playback UPnP, iTunes and cat6 wired to ND5XS.
With nstream, I don't get album covers for iTunes album list, just naim discs appear. But once I select an album I then see the artwork. I've tried everything to fix this but gave up in the end. Just enjoy listening to the music.
Are you seeing any artwork at all?
Also, before upgrade to lion, did you see artwork everywhere in nstream?
You may have tried this already but maybe try clearing the image cache in nstream settings. I will be interested to know if you fix the album list. Maybe it's a Lion issue???
Thanks very much. Yes I tried clearing the image cache but no luck. I used to get the artwork before the Lion upgrade so I suspect it's a Lion compatibilty issue. It's not a big deal really, the music sounds the same. I'm very grateful for your help though. Thanks very much.
Stop the playback server and try clearing the server cache at: ~/Library/Application Support/Playback Server/QuickLook then restart the server. If the doesn't help then the developers are very active on the playback forum and are quick to assist.
James
James, Thank you very much. I'll try this.
James, I think I'm being very thick as I've found the Application Support Folder but can't find a sub folder called Playback Server? Sorry I'm a bit new to Mac having used Windows for so many years! Any ideas where else the server cache might be?
Thanks again and apologies for being dumb!
No worries - for ~ go in under users / your username / Library - then you should find it
James
Hi James
This folder does not exist with Lion on my mac. Are you using Lion as your OS?
In fact, I searched the whole hard disc for anything with "Playback" but 0 results. I will contact developers to see if they can suggest anything.
Snow leopard. This mac isn't used for anything else but ripping and serving so I've left the OS alone. The developers will sort you out
Dear James and AntonD,
I can't find anything either!
Thank you both very much for your efforts.
Best wishes & Happy Listening
