Oh, Brother! I DO get bored with some forums.

I have been a member for just over a year. There's been some fantastic advice from moderators(you know who you are!) and members alike. I have made, I hope, some new friends and met some fantastic characters along the way. Still, feel bored stilff. What the heck is going on?

Tony,
IF you are that bored in this the music room.
A artist that says his music will be more song based comes to mind.

You can read my posts. They'll get rid of your boredom. Might also have you thinking more about the human condition. And erratic irrational behavior.
Sounds a bit like a cue to say "the forum is not what it once was".
It has got a lot quieter around here, a lot of the older members greatly disliked the change to the current format and stopped posting, or left. New blood, like Tony's is what we need.
I think the h-fi room is a busy as ever, but the music room is slow these days, but still has some very informed and valued opinions. Still my favourite place to discover music, hear about tours and news.
One of the factors these days, following the digital revolution, is that we are able to find and experience new music so easily that the fun of the chase is over all too quickly. The next fix is just around the corner. Searching and discovering on your own can be both rewarding and a lonely place. Forums at least bring (remotely) like minds together and after all, it's good to share.
In fairness, I think most forums have a relatively small hard core of folk that post frequently from one month to the next and sometimes from one year to the next. However there are few people on here posting who were regulars say 5 years ago. That is in part because many of the discussions are similar - the same topics arise and strikingly similar (at times ardent) views are expressed. It's exactly the same on other forums such as PFM. Also, once (if) you settle with a system that you are happy with then upgrade and new items type topics become less interesting. The music room has always been interesting on here and even the What are you listening to? thread which essentially has little to no discussion at all has introduced me to lots of great music that I may otherwise not have discovered. But, as someone said, that's fairly quiet these days.
Forums, hopefully, are never going to be a match for real life

Perhaps an Pretentious Moi video will cheer you up.

A truly underrated pastime, imho.

I find the most boring posts are those written by Guido Fawkes because half the time I can guess what the Guy is going to say before I've read it.
Nope - not even an smile.

Guy, have you tried neuroleptics to help you regain the missing half ? Boring complete. Lame over.
Cheer up you two !
Don't really get where your coming from?
If you comment is serious, which I think it is, then I am assuming you are bored with the requests for advice, queries, comments, reactions, attitudes and humour, with approx Well over 5000 members, that really is incredibly bored. And I can't really believe that.
It's a little like going to the pub with a bunch of mates where you have a passion for a subject, for example, cars, sci if films, architecture, girls (or boys), and then proclaiming to your friends that they bore you.
One would immediately assume that you did not mean it but we're simply drunk or were angry at something or someone, a chip on your shoulder about something, something nagging at you. If none of these are true then I would naturally assume that your arrogance is pretty high.
This is not a dig at you, just trying to understand what you really mean.
And yes of course if you have soooo many people chatting together, you will get bored with some, but isn't that what happens most of the time, isn't a large proportion of life boring, including ones work and home. You would have to be a perpetual new born baby or on you death bed not to be bored or perhaps the Dalai Lama or any other spiritual being, which I assume you are not...or maybe you think you are?
Lets be real here, nothing is only boring or only exciting, everything is boring and exciting at some point, nothing is fixed, even you state of mind. So I am assuming again, that you are no longer bored of this incredibly informative and humorous forum.
Cheers,
Jason.
