I had forgot i had this brilliant album.

I found it in a box with some other cds that had not been put on my wall racks a couple of weeks ago.

Reason it was in the box turned out to be it would not rip because of a scratch.

Anyway i ordered another copy from the US  $5.95 it came yesterday.

This really rocks.

So if you like Fred's albums and don't have this one?

IMO You should grab a copy ASAP.

Its a bargain from amazon sellers at the mo £1.23.

Winky,

Fred has some good people playing on it.

Its not as laid back as his others and it loves a bit of extra volume on a few tracks.

Well worth the money imo.

Its getting lots of play here and in the car.

Tim,

I have been trying to get Fred & Sarah over to the UK for years.

I think they made it as far as France for a holiday not that long ago..

Would love to see them both play live.

Big thanks to Stu and all for the very kind words ... I can only begin to tell you how much it means to me that you dig my music.

Yes, Open Book wants to be played loud ... but then, I think almost all good music sounds better loud!

Tim, I basically think about going just about almost anywhere to do a concert! Desire is not the issue ... as I always like to say, I will come to Edmonton any time Edmonton will have me.

My wife Sarah and I (and our daughter) were in Paris this past spring, and I did look into trying to gig there but it quickly became so difficult that it threatened to turn a holiday into a headache, and who wants that?

All the best,

Fred

Moderated Post: Sorry Fred, had to delete the last paragraph, stricty against forum rules.  Have a chat with Simon and maybe he can arrange something here...

By the way, another "lost" album some of you might be interested in (if you can find it) is my 1988 album on the Windham Hill label, Usually/Always ... think of it as somewhere between Open Book and more recent recordings on the Naim label, in full technicolor. It features Paul McCandless (Oregon), Steve Rodby and Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny Group), Bonnie Herman (Singers Unlimited), Iain Matthews (Fairport Convention), and many other fine musicians:

Thanks Fred. I'll start asking people (hopefully in the right places) that it would be a good idea to have you visit Edmonton. We got Laurence Hobgood a while back and he was magic.

I'll look out for the Usually/Always album as I have quite a few Windham Hill recordings and found them to be very good quality.
