Playlists !  Yahooo! Just tried.

Alphabet instead of dots down the side.

To me, the text is clearer in the lists.

Not sure about anything else yet !

Hi Minigill

I take it your streamer updated successfully to 3.16?

Unfortunately mine didn't and has a "fault 36" displayed on the unit.

Did you follow the advice to update to 3.13 first?

Yep. IT/ software is the industry I work in so know quite a bit about this subject and products/devices. Already spoken with Naim and it appears my fault means a return to the factory.

I was so impressed with my nd5 until 1 hour ago. I'll have to think now if I want it back!

Was really looking forward to a listening session tonight

Yesssss, very happy with this update!

The queue is what I wanted. Now I can look for what to play while listening.

update went smoothly. New functionality was worth waiting. The queue is very nice and playlists was in my top-wish-list

I don't understand how I can see what firmware version I am on right now. Is it under "Version" (3.9.00) or "Boot version" (1.2.22)? I would think not, but then I can't locate where I could see it. Anyone?

Posted on: 21 August 2012 by Minigill

You can see the version from the app either on the ipad or phone under settings.   Naim recommends it should be 3.13 before running the new update.

Or via the handset/Streamer

Tools > Factory Settings > System Status, then scroll down until you reach firmware.

Everything went smoothly.

Awesome update, both for ND5XS and n-stream.

Update. Just powered nd5 back up after off for approx 1.5 hrs and guess what?

She works

New n-stream looking good the alphabet to the right and new playlist functionality looks great. Music back on folks!

A happy Anton here

I like it now it goes back to what you were listening to when the app shuts, instead of 'restoring history' everytime when you go back into the app.

Great news then Anton, welcome to the party

Thank you. Will celebrate with a monster listening session and give the new app a good workout. Looking good so far.

just updated without any problem. However nStream now messes up with album order. I use asset upnp and prefer the album order "album by artist" for alphabetical artist order first and second by album. But nStream ignores that now. I get always the alphabetical album order only - but I don't like that with unsorted artists. I just can switch to artists, but then I can't see all album covers directly.

Does someone knows how to work around? I couldn't find an additional setting in asset controls.

In track navigation still doesn't work or am I wrong?

Both app and system status don't say: "Firmware version", but unit version (3.09.00). I guess that's it then. Starting the upgrade!

Just checked the phone, it says 'streamer version', so meaning the same thing!

Good luck !

Looks like I need a board update or a new streamer.

Yep - looked at the instructions - nope I don't have and will not give houseroom to a Win PC.....

Yes I do need the new streamer board - do I upgrade my Uniti or trade in? SuperUniti?

Touching a song in n-stream it now asks whether to play it or add it to a playlist etc. Is it possible to disable this feature so that it immediately plays the song, so that one doesn't have to touch the screen twice for playing a song?

Posted on: 21 August 2012 by AntonD

Tog, fortunately I have windows pc for work otherwise I would be in same predicament here. I think Naim need to sort this in the future.

SU sounds good though

Nothing for android yet, but I dont care I will keep my squeezebox touch long time and forget about Naim streamers

Great upgrade.. Now I can mention the dynamic playlists for the NDX, absolutely superb.. Just make sure your NAS or wherever your files are kept has a static IP address... Nice touch with the vey latest Nstream you can selectively remove unreferencable files from your playlist.

Also the sound has improved even further (kind of more complete and layered), and this includes sending spdif to the ndac.. I quizzed naim about this as i thought i must be going nuts but  they advised me that they have tweaked the DSP controller code.. Perhaps matching it to the same build as the NDS.. Really nice .. Makes be pleased to be a Naim customer.
