Sound quality improvements with new nstream patch ?

Are there any sound quality improvements by applying the firmware update? I don't care enough about the new functionality to risk a bricked system.

Hi, I am not aware of NStream updates affecting sound quality, but the recent network player firmware update to 3.16 included a change to the DSP controller code which I and a few others hear an improvement in the overall charactersitic of the audio.

Thanks! I meant the network player firmware upgrade, not the iPad App.
