Random Five Year Thought (Updating)

A random (but interesting) thought.

Given Naim's current streaming architecture and its Microsoft dependence for updates - then the company must be taking a bet that the majority of customers will be accessing the internet on MS-based systems in five years time.

On all current projections that seems unlikely. Therefore, Naim either has to be working on alternatives or it has decided it knows better.

The likelihood is that by 2017 most day-to-day internet access will be via tablet, phone etc.

If Naim are not planning for this I'd be astonished. But if they're not.........

Well, when you start taking your NDX with you for listening in your car, maybe they will finally listen to you.

I am sure people will still have internet connections at home.

An interesting thought, Jon.  But although an ardent Apple fan, I am not convinced MS will be so out of favour as not to be available in five (or ten) years time.  I do agree that smart phones and tablets will rule, but MS should survive very well, but likely not with its present prevalence.

On a related note, I do wish they would improve the networking ability with Apple products. Maybe they have, but my now one year old Qute does not connect reliably at all.
