Paul, one of my favorites. It's a powerfully played and structured, homogenous performance, with Pollini on inspired form. Other performers capture more of the humor and flights of fancy (excellent recordings by Anderszewski and Ugorski). On the other side of the spectrum (closer to Kovacevich and Lewis), Pollini's sense of purpose and feeling for structure are unmatched (all IMO). Recorded sound is as good as DG ever gave Pollini, which isn't saying much but quite good in this case.
