One of America's finest singer songwriters and a mighty fine guitar player (Bob D thought so too as he use Joe on Blonde On Blonde) ... classics like Games People Play and Walk a Mile in My Shoes as well as the previously mentioned international hit Rose Garden (the perfect pop song), The Purple People Eater Meets the Witch Doctor (though I don't think Joe wrote that, but it was his first hit which I remember hearing when I was knee high to grasshopper) and, of course, where would Deep Purple be without Joe?

You can pick up Joe's first four albums on those two for one packages and there is some fabulous music on these. Excepting the aforementioned Mr D, has there been a better male American singer/songwriter? I'm hard pushed to think of one ,,, he's up there with the best.

Very sad news to hear he is no longer with us.

RIP Mr South.
