Beatles Remastered Vinyl
Posted by: matt podniesinski on 20 September 2012
I just received an e-mail alleging that the vinyl is finally arriving. Anybody else seen similar announcements?
I think its a Ltd but you will still be able to buy the LPs on there own.
Stu.
Thanks Stu, I can see the next few years being an expensive time as the resurgence in vinyl is going to see a lot of remastered releases, like the Massive Attack one I've just found out about. I really hope that the record companies catch on to the fact that most people that buy these remasters would ideally like the vinyl and 24bit version in one package, not the MP3 or even the Flac versions that they sometimes give now.
Then I would have to start looking at some more storage options
Nothing wrong with FLAC.
Its just a Naim thing that WAV sounds better on naim streamers.
The new Brian ENO vinyl album comes with everything.
Order from his record label site for the best deal though.
Every new vinyl album coming from the Naim label comes with everything now also.

Well Steve,
What can I say but FAB!!!!!
Just played the1st LP Please Please Me and the SQ is excellent, the music is exciting and live.
Vocals are fantastic and I have never heard all the vocal inflections like this before. You can tell when John has been signing for a while and when he is really pushing it.
George's guitar.....well I can almost see him playing it!
Bass lines are a lot clearer, and Ringo sounds good!
The band are just there!
The sound is full and real. At times I felt they are in the room or I am in the studio or The Cavern. I can almost taste it.
And the packaging and book is excellent.
i love it.........next is With The Beatles.
Mal,
Are you not still playing in the big Blues band?
I still have your naim sampler 6 CD from the forum members get together in Ashford years ago unopened in a box.
I found it a couple of weeks ago.Its still got your name on the shrink cover in black marker pen.
Do you still want it?
Stu.
Well resistance was futile. Decided to order Abbey Road, Sgt Pepper, & White Album with wot records. Now all I need is my record player back home after it's rub down with the sporting life!
And...WIth The Beatles had even more excitement..you could hear it in their voices and how they played.
i couldn't help but sing along with them!
....now...A Hard Day 's Night...but no more postings from me for a while to avoid boring you all out there!

Paul,
You have room at work for one of these or the smaller ones in the same range.
You can store lots of things in and on them.
Cheap as chips from Ikea.
White is mega cheap.
Stu.
You cant beat the EXPEDIT racks imo for VFM.
I have the two above in black and this one that sits length ways on top of the big one above.
All bolted to the wall with the fixings that come with them.

+1
Bought one last year as things LP storage wise were getting 'a bit out of order'. Excellent value although I may need another one before too long!

Steve,
If one of yours is still in the usa get them to bring one back and don't open it.
Play the one you have now on order.
The MONO set when it comes out next year will have already payed for its self twice or more by then

Hi Stu,
My son's working in the City now and my daughter's at Uni so I don't know when they'll be going out again. Anyway, I don't think they'd be too happy lugging 11.5kg of records home. I might see about ordering one and see what freight/customs is.
Do you like the new avatar pic?
Steve
Hi Steve,
trying to work out who the new avatar is....is it Danny Kirwan?...but looks too recent!
Richard
p.s. now listening to The Word from Rubber Soul...great base Paul!
Hi Richard,
It's my son in his group Broken Circle. It was taken a few years ago. They were offered a recording deal after playing at the Venue in Leicester Sq but because of University commitments they couldn't take it up. The guitar is a Gibson Supreme.
Enjoy Rubber Soul.

The Beatles box-set: Amazon.uk inform me that my order is "Dispatched"
Looking forword to this, i expect they all will need a clean to remove the static at least but i do hope they have nice poly-paper inner-sleeves already cos my supply has completely ran out [again]

They all have good quality poly-paper lined inner-sleeves.

Come on guys. Plenty of you must have the box set. Let's have some more reviews of SQ etc.
Steve
Just finished listening to the new 'Abbey Road' re-master. The first thing that struck me was the balance of the production there is no way you could describe the sound as HI FI which is a good thing. I cannot comment on the other albums in the box but the 'Abbey Road' production is sublime, the vocals subtle and dynamic with depth and placement you can hear and imagine the height and depth of the Abbey Road studio. Ringo’s drumming is full but not over powering with definition between the kit and the timbre of the different skins can clearly be heard. The bass is full and deep but with no hit of boom or overblown. My copy is beautifully flat with no surface noise. IMO it sounds majestic.
Regards Graham.
Great!
I'll get the copy and add to my reissue thread.

Box set arrived this afternoon ... looks brilliant - however, it'll be a few days before I can sit down and listen to it ... for some reason the people who pay me keep insisting I get on with some work
My set arrived this morning ... a beautiful package to be sure.
I have played through the first six albums from Please Please Me to Rubber Soul. The first four are as good as could be expected given the original source material but once we reach Help and more so, Rubber Soul, the quality begins to truly shine forth. I am really looking forward to the journey ahead through the later albums.
Some interesting comparisons to made in the future as we also have the original LP pressings from back in the day when my wife was a teenager, eagerly saving up her pocket money for each new album to be released! A warm glow fills me each time I walk in a record shop now and see what these are fetching! (i wonder if this release will push prices of the originals up or down... or make no difference?)
Looking forward to reading further comments.
My set arrived today, very quick for the free delivery option.
But i need to get ready for work now,
so won't have time to play them 'til next weekend : (
Very strong packaging, Amazon taking no chances : )

Set aside your "least favorite" LP and promise not to open that one until the 25th . Meanwhile, enjoy the 13 others.
