Etymology of Band Names

Interesting John, thanks.
I was under the impression that the 'Doors' derived rom Aldous Huxley's book, Doors Of Perception and not as quoted from the site below.
"DOORS
From a William Blake quote 'If the doors of perception were to be cleansed evry thing would appear to man as it is, infinite'. The Doors were originally called the Psychedelic Rangers. "
Did anyone else think that? I guess there will be others with a different story.
Cheers.
Wiki quote:-
The band took its name from Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception,[3] the title of which was a reference to a William Blake quotation: "If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite."
LED ZEPPELIN
Stories vary, but basically Keith Moon told Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones that their new project would go over like a lead balloon, hence, Led Zeppelin. The 'Led' spelling was to make sure people pronounced the name right.
Led Zeppelin's Manager Peter Grant removed the a from Lead Zeppelin ,because he thought Americans would pronounce it as Leed !

So actually the Doors took their name from Aldous Huxley's book....and not the Blake poem as the Doors may have been oblivious to the fact that, Aldous Huxley made reference to Blake's poem in the title of his book.

John Entwistle always said it was him rather than Keith.
No explanation for Dexys Midnight Runners
Is that Blue Peter story true or just an urban myth?
