That was quite a jump. An incredible view, and a scary few moments when he seemed to be spinning uncontrollably. His visor misted up to start with, but that problem solved itself at lower altitudes.
They are now waiting for the data to be analysed before claiming records, but he failed to beat the longest free falbusy about twenty seconds. Bummer.
Tony
That was a real heart stopper and I was only watching. Huge cojones award for sure.
Any preliminary reports on a major network re-broadcast?
He apparently broke the sound barrier - jeeze Louise - the fine line between uber brave & crazy!

Apparently a BBC documentary in a few weeks.

He free-fell further than anybody, but he was just to fast. Good to see old Joe still has a record.
I watched it live. Riveting stuff. He seemed to be freaking out (tense? I'll say) just a little bit before he jumped. I know I would have been!
When the capsule door finally rolled aside, and he could see the view for the first time at 127,000 feet, I'd bet his heart-rate jumped a bit. I know mine did. Wow. Unreal. Brave guy.
0.3% of an atmosphere. That is thin.
Yeah... but if Red Bull gives you wings, then why did he need a parachute?
(I'll get me coat.....)
Looks like Jimmy Saville picks him up at the end....?
(I'll get my coat)
Theirs won't be anywhere near as good as that!
