Artist you know you should like but don’t.

I have albums in my collection by artist I should like and tried to like but just don’t. For instance I have tried to like Kate Bush, Milles Davis, Paul Weller and Steve Wonder over the years but just find it difficult. Is it just me? Or have you also tried and failed with certain artist, no matter how many times you have given them a go.

Regards Graham.

I think any music derserves more than 30 seconds attention, Mariah Carey being an exception of course. Must dash, on my way to Leicester.

lol. I was exaggerating a bit of course. Of course I tried, I own some of them on cd, so more then 30 seconds I do give them...but still; I really don't get them. At all. So the result now is: Mumford/Porcupine/Fleetfoxes/Floyd starts....I wait....I dislike...wait some more...naahh...doesn't do it for me. Smart music, good recordings, but no positive emotional response here, just numbness and slight irritation....that I don't get it...   Mariah Carey on the other hand.....haha

Mariah and Bananarama. (i'm your venus, i'm your fire, and your deeesiiiiiiurrrrrr). Mahler can reek sometimes. To me he sounds like a guy who is just aching to be famous.

Some extraordinary choices here .... I can't believe there are people on the planet, let alone a music forum, who didn't like the late great Kirsty MacColl - still takes all sorts. At least everybody hereon loves Bauhaus so Bela Lugosi did not die in vain.

And the soundtrack to the excellent film staring David Bowie, The Hunger.

Cheers.
