Mine is on order - I can't see why anybody would not order it.

Because they are probably the only band that will ever be able to engender this kind of advertising response all over NYC a full 40+ years since they recorded anything.

I can't think of anything i would rather do on the 29th November and the 8th December than play the new  box set of Beatles LP Records.

I prefer vinyl but do not see the point of digitally remastered vinyl releases.

Nope Stu as my LP12 is still sitting in a drawer doing nothing for what must be 10 years or so.

E,

Your LP12 had been sitting in your drawer for ten years doing nothing six years ago.

Well if I owned a TT I would.  I owned them all, then bought the remastered (stereo) box set, then bought the Apple usb thingy.  For us at home there's the Beatles . . . and then the rest of the music collection.

Not yet but possibly. I have all the original 1st presses, most in pretty good nick, but there are a few I would like to have better copies of; like Help, but I also have good US LPs so I might buy a single LP and check out the SQ before I commit to the box set. I hate buying remasters only to find they're rubbish compared to what I already have and at nearly 300 squids that's an expensive mistake.

Funnily enough I was thinking last night that it may have been even longer than that. Old age memory and all that well that is what I am claiming.

They're still on vinyl, but they're not on Spotify ........ thank God!

Speaking of him, when it comes to looking back into history at music, I would humbly suggest that Bach has a greater claim to stake than Messrs Lennon & McCartney.

I haven't posted for a very long time, and love the Beatles so feel compelled to comment.  If the stereo vinyl is as good as the Record Store Day mono 45 "teaser" set that came out last year, then everyone is in for a real treat!  However, I can't help but wonder why Apple are not releasing this set in mono, knowing the albums were originally produced & released this way.

Having A/B'd the mono box set CD's with the stereo from my brother's set.  The mono is clearly better sound.  More focused, present, real . . . for lack of better description, it just boogies that much more.

Guess I'll wait and see if Apple decides to release the vinyl albums in mono . . . what are the odds?

Max

PS.  Sorry for the negative waves Stu.

I bought the CD stereo remaster set at the record store the hour they became available.  I hedged my bets with the mono set, waited 2 years, and got it on Amazon new for just under $100.

I think I'm going to wait awhile on the vinyl to see if the price drops (besides, I still need to buy my TT).  I'm interested to hear what Stu and others here think of them.  I suspect vinyl mono remasters will be on the way in another year or so.

There seems to be a good deal of confusion on the 'net as to which masters the vinyl is derived from.  However, a comment from Michael Fremer was interesting ; "A MONO LP box is planned for the Spring and that box, like the mono CD box will contain STEREO LPs cut from the original stereo mixes!"
