It does seem a bit of a shame to spend so much money on this stuff, which may be a little better/different to what people have already, when there is just so much wonderful new music waiting to be discovered. I guess the retirement funds / estates need a boost, but this does seem a bit of a cynical exercise. Just how many versions does the world need? I guess it appeals to the collector that lurks, to varying extents, within us all.

The vinyl box set thats being released next month is the same as the 2009 stereo CD box set but on vinyl.

Yes it looks like there will be a vinyl mono box set released next year and that will be the same as the 2009 Mono CD box set but on vinyl.

Its quite simple really.

???

I have no stereo CDs in my 2009 Mono CD box set.

I am at a loss as to what Michael Fremer is on about?

To own Beatle records that score well in reproduction terms is very desirable imo, especially if ones collection is seriously lacking in fab-four vinyl [which mine is] ....and the opportunity to buy them in a big bumper box set is job done and dusted.

I own two Beatle albums [Help and Rubber Soul] but they are horrible digital-remastered issues from the late 80’s which leave me very unimpressed (sonically speaking). My tatty old copy of ‘Best of George Harrison’ album from 1982 sounds far far superior in SQ and is musically very enjoyable…. although that one's probably analogue

My dilemma is the Stereo vs. Mono sets and whether i need to buy both. I need money that's what i want...

On (I think) 2 of the CDs in the mono box, the original stereo versions follow the mono immediately.

I might consider combining xmas and birthday this year depending on price.

£287 is the cheapest from What Records.Thats inc the £8.00 P&P

I would rather pay the extra from Amazon uk though £299 to get it on the day of release and fast turn around free post if it has to go back for any reason.
