Got woken up this morning by some Donkey stuffing a crap paper thru our letter box. Problem is he is getting earlier and earlier every week.. This morning is was @ 5.45AM.

My question to you all is this.....Is it legal  for people to do this at such an early time of day? at my age i need my beauty sleep.

You must be a very light sleeper for a newspaper being stuffed into your letter box to wake you up!

Why not just stick a sign up saying "no junk mail/free newspapers please"?

Had a sign on the letter box for years, total waste of time.
99% of the Mupets that deliver these papers/leaflets are from the 3rd/4th world and neither speak or understand Queens English.
We have a strong return spring on our letter box that makes a loud clatter when anything gets stuffed thru the box.

Most junk mail is now delivered by what's left of the Royal Mail so saying "no" isn't really a practical option. There is the Mail Preference Service but that's generally useless. Local papers are easy to deal with. They're delivered by young people generally. Run out of the house after them saying that they've forgotten something and then hand them the paper back. It's generally a memorable experience for them and one they don't want to repeat. Been 6 years now since anyone dared put a free paper through my letter box

Since we moved house three years back we no longer have free papers delivered as we are now semi rural and the blighters can't be bothered to travel to where we are and a limited bus route too. I may add we didn't move to escape the paper boy, well to a degree maybe!
