Wine ratings....

0/10... Undrinkable poison (or corked) …a non-starter.

1/10... Horrible nasty tasting plonk. Best used for a sink waste cleaner.

2/10... Very poor effort, not enjoyable to drink but maybe used for cooking.

3/10... Grimace wine ...with too many concessions that leaves one wanting.

4/10... An okay wine with some virtues but far from good quality.

5/10... Good drinkable fair to middling wine but far from flawless.

6/10... Very good wine, drinkable. Would buy again at the right price.

7/10... Excellent wine, very drinkable and enjoyable.

8/10... Excellent plus wine, highly enjoyable, class!

9/10... A special wine with the most fantastic taste.

Ten!.. Perfection!

Just uncorked an Angel's Flight : )

"Rich, ripe Zinfandel from California packed full with delicious raspberry, strawberry and blackberry fruit flavours. Soft tannins on the palate compliment the classic varietal character."

California
Red - medium bodied
14.0%
100% Zinfandel

My previous bottles of this have been nice and this isn't bad either, this the has hints of liquorice…, it really needs to be decanted and goes without saying - room temp… and given some time (2 hours) to smooth out an otherwise cold hairy tongue after taste, can be very grizzly if opened up too cold [I know… I tried] Nice colour and good body but more than slightly strong.

When warmed up proper is very happy face drinkable though : )

score = 6/10

I had that problem yesterday but got around it by removing the screwcap

This is really nice after decanting, and leaving for a couple of hours at warm room temp before supping.

Rod's very good advice seem to hold very true IME : )

Peach, passion fruit, lime, and not too acidy. About £13 in Waitrose.

We are enjoying this one

Craggy Range wines are consistently good and the setting of the winery itself is absolutely gorgeous.

My current favourite Savs are Convergence Two Rivers, which has become my Friday night wine of choice and, if i really feel like splashing out, one of the Villa Maria Reserve's.  There are others i'd rank above these but the two above are available at my local so don't have to try to hard/

7/10 Les grandes Cailloux 2008 après Domaine de la Bastide Visan 2011: love  a good Rhone. Not as plummy as the Chateau Latour 2011 we  enjoyed aux weekend! Mana to the Norse gods.

Trying to compare 4 wines with a nice home chili and Mr. Sinatra on the round spiny thing. Didn't Wales do well!!?  I'll give my verdict tomorrow!!!!

Hmm. I went from that NZ white, to Peroni Gran Reserva beer, to Hendricks gin. I'd better have a glass of water before I go up the apple and pears to Bedneyville.

Its off topic but took our LUMP to the vets yesterday for his 6 months service & Mot. They put him to sleep to remove the Tartar from his teeth + he is heavier and my plastic got hit for 200 quid.
