Calling Richard Dane (Adam Meredith)

Adam

Is it possible to correct my mispellings in my Forum "identity"?  I have tried under "Manage - Update Profile" without success.  Obviously I mis-typed it in originally and there seems to be no way I can correct it other than creating a new identity (and using a new email).

Thanks and hope you can help

This would be for Moderator Dane - my Super Powers have been pleasantly depleted.

'Hils' - I am thinking this is Danish?

Thanks for a quick response - my name should be "Shropshire Hills" but I got both words wrong!

Given my ability to manage the most terrible typo-howlers, this made me laugh out loud.

It's made my day! Thanks!!

Hello George

I am honoured to make you laugh. I have always enjoyed your posts and music suggestions - one of these days I will call by to listen to those Quad speakers!

I assume you are talking of the hills round Church Stretton and Craven Arms. Not that far away from Worcester really.

For a year I worked on a farm near Dorrington [actually at Church Pulverbach] as the sandwich of an Agricultural course in the early '80s, and am well acquainted with South Shropshire  as well as still having friends out by Oswestry

As things settle it will become a pleasure to have a few local and not so local Naimees see what I reckon a good set up is!

Actually we live in Cleobury Mortimer - Worcester is our nearest decent town (or city) - although I know the Stretton Hills very well along with Clun and Bishops Castle - lovely lonely countryside.

Well when in Worcester, or planning to visit let me know!

Bring some of your music! I can listen to my own anytime, and it's more interesting to let someone else choose!

I'll probably be delivering ice cream to Cleobury later this week!

Cheers George

Not sure you will like my music! Some classic rock and blues but also a lot of jazz piano and small groups.  Currently listening to a Krautrock 2 cd compilation - some interesting 70s and 80s electronic music.

I don't think you will get too many takers for ice cream later this week - cold weather and snow on northern hills forecast

Cheers

That should do it..

Dear Bob,

You would be surprised how broad my enjoyment of music might be! No I don't expect to rush out and order a load of albums, but I have been to concerts in pubs, to modern [classical] music concerts, even listened carefully to ultra-pop on commercial radio, and found something in it that I was glad to have listened to, even if I would not want to investigate it much further! I even listen carefully to supermarket musac!

Here it is classical, very limited range of jazz, and certain pop songs that seem to stick in the mind in spite of not really fitting in with my central focus. I am not able to enjoy the sharper end of Hip-hip, most later jazz [I detest Miles Davis for example], crooners like Sinatra, AC-DC [and their ilk], but otherwise, I can listen and enjoy any music that does not go louder than lovely!

Classic Rock is something that will be a reminiscence - no problems - but if the electronic music goes too loud the ESLs will complain!

I think I dislike more classical music [in the broadest sense of the definition] than all other genres put together ...

The Second Viennese School of atonal [classical] stuff is a real reason to listen to Radio Four!

Clumsy fingers and a phone keyboard meant I replied before I'd finished texting.

George thanks for more info your wide musical tastes. There are several Naimees around Worcestershire and South Shropshire. Perhaps we should meet up occasionally to enjoy each others music and different systems. I am still playing CDs but would like to see and hear examples of streaming solutions.

Regards
