Huey and the New Yorkers

For those of you who haven't swung by the Naim Label site recently...

Naim Edge Records are proud to announce the signature of one of popular music's most respected figures - not just as a talented musician, broadcaster with an encyclopaedic knowledge of western music and multi-million selling artist - but one of the coolest people on the planet.

Huey and the New Yorkers is the debut solo project of Huey Morgan, the provocative frontman of Brooklyn's own ‘Fun Lovin Criminals'. Drenched with the same effortless cool of Huey's famous vocals and deft blues licks, the half Irish, half Puerto Rican icon more abundantly explores the roots, country and soul influences on his solo material that he's become celebrated for sharing on his BBC Radio show. Huey's disarmingly candid storytelling, recall the bluesmen of old, but with a unique twist befitting the post hip-hop generation. From service with the US Marine Corps as a mischievous youth, through chart fame in his 20s, to role model family man, Huey Morgan has seen and done it all. As a world class writer of song, it's only right to share it.

On the debut album Say It To My Face, Huey is joined by worldclass musicians and friends from the New York City blues scene in which Huey cut his teeth before international acclaim beckoned with Fun Lovin' Criminals. Produced and mixed by Grammy Award winner Tim Latham, whose work with Huey reaches all the way back to the multi-platinum debut FLC record ‘Come Find Yourself'), Say It To My Face, is the eclectic and idiosyncratic musical journey that Huey has always wanted to make. Here at Naim, we are excited and honoured to be part of it!
