To Mo or not to Mo for big interview?

Posted by: loudmusic2004 on 08 November 2012

Hi all - got a big electrical engineering interview next Monday. I'm currently 8 days into Movember and currently just look very unkempt. As a prospective employer would you suggest I clean up or would you understand 'doing the bit for charity'....

Is Movember so big now it would immediately be understood why I looked a tad rough round the edges?

Thanks for your replies!

Shave, start again the next day. Simple.

Sorry, It's got to go. If you don't you'll have to immediately explain why you're looking scruffy & that will upset the flow of your interview.

Thanks gents. Just what I was thinking...

Definitely shave it off. First impressions and all that. That is unless your auditioning for the 118 advert.

Electrical engineering?

Isn't it a requirement to look scruffy anyway?

(at least it seemed to be when my dad did it)....

I agree it's right to shave it off, but it would be amusing if you got there and the interviewers were all sporting recent or embryonic 'taches themselves.

Probably make a good talking point.

Unless they are women, in which case best to keep quiet.

Good luck - hope you get offered the job!

Professionalism is the most important factor in any interview IMHO.

BTW, when they ask what your are doing in your current job, they do not really mean what but what they are looking for are "why" and "how"  you do it.

Good luck!!!

Jimbob! Fight the machine!

If they don't like your 'tache, they're not good enough for you so screw 'em

Correct Jamie (although I have not always been).

To be honest I am terrible in job interviews, absolutely hate them and have never got a job as the result of one. Every job (in the sense of full-time employment) I've ever got is as a result of luck, personal recommendations or reputation.
