Records that will clear a room.

Metal Machine Music.
Just tried to listen to this again after many, many, years. There's no two ways about it. Lou Reed did this to annoy people. It is just 'Imposable' to love.
Please give me your records that would clear a room.
Regards Graham.
... getting back on topic.
The Buckaroos. Just your typical country and western band from Chalon sur Saone (north of Lyon). Cowboys with French accents. It's painful... along with the lyrics.
In the year eighteen ninety six
A man was waiting for his dying day
He went down a sinned wrong way
Now the jail was the end of his fix
The last prayer he wrote it
Behind his parents' portrait
Rufus Buck must pay
The letter would stay....
I bought it in 98, but it hasn't improved with age.

Great lyrics maketh the song
I'd like to think decency would intervene here:
"You can't imagine how it hurts me
To have you treat me like you do
Knowing that my love is just a joke to you
But I'll take it just to see you
And laugh as teardrops fall
So when you need a laugh
Give me a call
Everybody says, I'm crazy
To let you treat me this way
But I can't explain, so, what else can I say
At least I'm on your mind when you're laughin'
Somehow that breaks the fall
So when you need a laugh
Give me a call
I'd gladly trade the laugh you get
For making fun of me to be around
The one I love and need so desperately
So even if the laugh's on me
I don't mind at all
So when you need a laugh
Give me a call
So when you need a laugh
Give me a call"
But it is Country & Western - an empty bottle, a pistola and one bullet.
Just like marrying a close member of your family. It should not be allowed to happen!

Blimey, I'd forgotten about that Tony. A pretty dismal album. Strangely, there were some good performances from that GD/BD tour. A pity none of them are on this record.

Kev,
I have always loved The Dead and can listen to Mr D. on a good day but this was kind of an abomination. Still, end of the night, you're tired, and the last "guests" refuse to leave...Hey, presto!
Also good for divorces and funerals... works a treat!
