Desktop Client Problem

Posted by: musica on 03 December 2012

Hi

Today when I opened DC the Music Library using maintenance view, the section on the righthand side of the page known as "Music Library File Detail is Missing. So I am unable to get track details etc.It was fine when I used it earlier today. I have tried closing and reopening DC and rebooting my PC (Win 7) but to no avail. Even the page scrolling section is missing. Please can anyone help. Thanks

Hello All,

Last morning News :

- I have desinstalled DTC (1.7a)

- I have cleaned Windows register (with CCleaner)

- have made a cool stop and restart

- have reinstalled DTC (1.7a)

and ..... and .....

The right windows is not present, and DTC quasi impossible to use without the scrollbars.

Very disapointed, I'll try to join Phil Harris at NAIM.

Anyway, thank you for your help

JR

That is most disappointing. It is a DTC bug and the solutions above are only fix ups after the fact.

Yes Paul,

Yesterday, I receive some help from Phil Harris at NaimNet.com (even a sunday!  thanks to Phil).

The only way we've found to fix the problem was to edit Windows register, as you suggest in your previous mail (change the value of MusicLibrarySplit)

And your conclusion is still valid : there is a bug in DTC and we only have a solution to fix the symptoms, not the syndrom.

Hope NAIM will have found a real solution in the next version of DTC.

I'll write my letter to SantaClaus in that way ....

I've got a HDX SSD that plays wonderfully and I've got the same problems with the desktop program. It works for weeks and yes, i close it before the Windows sleep mode can damage it, but after a while i can see no right column or i cannot open the whole artists section, just the tools are working. So the only solution is the old version, where none of these problems exists.

If only the software could reach the NAIM standard of sound.

Wich version of Windows are you using when this happens?

I am using the dtc latest version both on win7 32 and 64 bit.

However I use player & maintenence mode, but I guess this has some visual drawbacks?
