Track order in n-Stream Folder view

Posted by: Nick Rich on 09 December 2012

If I view by Artist / Album in n-Stream, tracks are shown and play in order, as expected.  However, if I use "by folder", tracks are listed and play in alphabetical order, thus losing the correct album track order.  Is this a problem with Twonky Server or n-Stream?  How can I correct this please?

I'm using a SuperUniti and QNAP NAS drive.

That's exactly what you would expect to happen.  If you really must use folder rather than one of the other options, then you will have to prefix the name of each track with it's title number (e.g. Donna would become 01 Donna) which would completely bugger up searching for any particular title in 'all tracks'

Right, thanks Dungassin.  I was just trying to group all my Christmas music together in one folder for ease of access, but it sounds like it's maybe more trouble than it's worth.

Nick - use nStream to create a Christmas playlist - then you don't have to worry about the location of the files.

Thanks Gaven - yes, I'd thought of that, but I have 4 or 5 Christmas themed albums and as far as I know I could only put them all in one long playlist, i.e. I couldn't choose by album.  Actually, this is only really a problem with one particular album where I can never remember the artist's name (!) so a playlist of that one will probably do.  Thanks for the help.
