?'s in moving itune files to US's NAS

Relative newby. My local shop has taken good care of me, but work hours have kept me from getting in to ask questions, so I'll try here.

Recently had the good fortune of acquiring a Unitiserve ssd and Synology 3Tb NAS. Just finished ripping the last of my cd's, and looking forward to tackling some of my LP's when time permits after the holidays.
In the meantime, I've several recordings in itunes, some entire albums, but many individual tunes, that I'd like to be able to access from the US. Some questions before I attempt moving them to my NAS;

1. They are formatted MP3 in itunes. should/need I convert them to flac before moving?

2. Would issues arise from my grouping tunes from a specific artist together in one file, even though the tunes are from various albums (seems like I'd essentially be creating my own album - sans album cover and title)?

If anyone knows of other issues I should be aware of in this endeavor, please feel free to chime in.

Thanks in advance,
Todd

The mp3s should be left as that conversion will not help.

itunes should have organised those files. Just drag the folder with the music in (not the entire itunes foldr) to the nas.

ne aware however itunes is easily confused when you do this.
