Concert for Sandy relief

Clapton was technically superior, but so far The Who has absolutely stolen the show with their overall performance.  Zak Starkey's drumming really infuses a lot of energy into their music.

Not sure why The Stones continue to denigrate their legacy with live performances???

Will miss Macca, got to pick up my daughter from college.

Thanks Osprey.  I was able to hear the end of concert on the radio as we were driving back home from Seattle.  Funny, the only part of the Macca's performance I didn't care for was the bit with Nirvana.  But Dave Grohl's drumming may explain a lot of that.

I didn't expect to be all that interested in the Sandy concert, but got pulled into it by the performances of the English bands.  It was great to see Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend so genuinely enjoy preforming their music together again; definitely the highlight for me.  Roger Waters bit was pretty cool, as well.  Clapton was just as classy and tight as ever, and he probably has the best pipes left of the bunch.

Yes, the bit with the remaining members of Nirvana was only curiosity wasn't it. However, I enjoyed the set - the Beatles songs included were from my favorite albums (I've Got a Feeling was a nice choice). I agree also that Pete and Roger seemed to have fun.

Just been catching up on some of the performances on You Tube, always difficult to judge live performances when you are not there, but I thought Eddie Vedder did a great job with Comfortably Numb, the whole Nirvana/Macca thing was interesting but the Who seemed to really rock and Obviously Bruce was on it as ever, I bet tickets to that gig weren't cheap, hopefully loads of money was raised though, right back to You Tube.

I read that ticket sales alone generated $30 million.  Haven't heard what donations totaled.
