What are you planning to do tomorrow ?

Posted by: Don Atkinson on 13 December 2012

Probably best to stick to the list of planned activities that are legal, then pop back to let us know how things worked and how much you enjoyed them.

Tomorrow is my day off. I normally take Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, but this week I swapped and have Friday off. So I plan to play around of golf with Mrs D in the morning (I was going to say 9 holes but thought it best to avoid any possible misunderstanding).

Then in the afternoon we will pick up our 4 year old grandson who is comming to stay overnight whilst his mum and dad go to some sort of RAF dinner. The afternoon and early evening (he goes to bed at seven) will no doubt see our hall covered with trucks and trains before we watch a Ben Ten video and do some fairytale reading before bed.

I will then look forward to "Have I Got News For You"

Nothing terribly exciting, but hopefully a really enjoyable day.

Cheers

To stop everyone worrying, the Goods Shed was finished and has now been installed on the layout for which it was built:

All ready for it's exhibition debut in February.

Steve,

Phwew.....haven't slept a wink for a week wondering how things were....

Glad to know your project is complete and hope the exhibition goes really well.

On my screen the photo you posted only appears as a red cross which is a pity, I imagine your exhibition is quite stunning

Any chance you can insert it again ?

Cheers

Don,

Hope this works:

It's the building on the l/h side.

Thanks for the good wishes. The actual exhibition the layout is attending is at Doncaster Racecourse on 9/10 February.

Ah ha! Picture works a treat and the model looks superb from what we can see.

Do you have any other shots of the model, or would that be similar to industrial espionage so close to your exhibition ?

Cheers

Flying to the Caribbean, via New York.

This is a good thing to be doing, I think.

It all sounds like a "good thing" this time of year Rod.

Is there a special reason for going via NY

Cheers

Work (honest) in the Caribbean, but I persuaded the boss to give me the cost of an Air France ticket towards a round trip, so I can go and see my cousin and his wife in Dallas, and come back via NYC, having four days holiday in each. This entailed getting there via New York too, so a little convoluted, but only cost €300 more. And I got an upgrade on the Nice - Heathrow flight! (Sadly my friend who not only works for BA but runs BA in Nice cannot engineer either upgrade or lounge in London). Currently in the Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Terminal 5. All good so far!

be nice to the trolly dollies when they offer you a choice of "red"; "white" or "Champaigne" to go with your lunch - and avoid using your sommelior tasting spoon (*) before deciding....

Brilliant layout Steve. Is it a group project or an individual one?

I presume it is built up in sections but still needs a small lorry to transport it to/from exhibitions ?

Cheers

It's a group project, there were 6 of us working on it. When packed up, the whole thing goes into a normal estate car.

Here is the whole thing erected:

And this how it packs up ready for transport:
