Desk Top Client error

Posted by: sktn77a on 14 December 2012

Recently, I'be been experiencing an odd error with the NAIM desktop client program.  I can connect to my HDX and view the "Music Library" and control music play on my HiFi system from my computer.  However, when I select "Tools", the system hangs for a minute and they gives a windows error:

"Specified argument was out of the range of valid values

Parameter name:  Index"

After I close the error box, I can view the "Tools" menu.

Anybody got any ideas what's going on?

I have similar problem, see my post last night. Can't even get mine to load the page.

Yes, I saw your post.  Might be a little different to mine, as I can see the album list, etc, and I can play the songs from the remote computer.  So it's connected.  Not sure what the "Index" is (?)

Well, put the HDX into standby and then turned it off.  Turned it back on again and it's not giving the error at this time.  IP address is the same (192.168.0.6) as it was before - not sure what the deal is.  It appears I have to switch off the HDX about every 2-3 weeks to get rid of connectivity glitches like this.

My desk top client problem has sorted itself out since I installed a new router, any up date on your problem?

After installing the new router my pc informed me I was not running the latest version desk top client, can't see anywhere that you can download a update from Naim, any ideas?

If you look at the HDX / unitiserve products and ther is a tab showing manuals and downloads. The DTC software is here

Well, I see that DTC v1.6b is the latest (current) version for the HDX  on the NAIM website.  When I open up DTC on my computer and go to Menu> Help> about> it says the following:

Naim Desktop Client

Version:  2.0.11.1165

Copyright 2004-2011 Digifi Ltd

I believe 1.6d is the latest and was issued in September.

Yes, I believe that the latest firmware version is 1.6d but the lates DTC version may be 1.6b (per Manu).  Would be nice if NAIM would put this in the "about" tab instead of the internal designation number.

It just means DTC has not changed in the last 3 firmware versions.

1.6b,c and d are compatible with 2.0.11.1165
