For the BBC viewers.
Suzi Perry is announced as the replacement for Jake Humphreys.
She is so much better looking.
All they need to do is get rid of Eddie J and I might even watch.

Well, as a Ferrari driver I'd rate Alonso well above Scheckter.... And if it wasnt for that idiot in the Lotus/Renault thing crashing all the time, Alonso would have been champion. I know that's would've could've should've, but Alonso did everything possible to win the championship last year.

Yes, he did but that was not enough. I'm not saying that Alonso couldn't win only that it is difficult. I agree about Scheckter (he was only lucky I guess as well as Kimi however he should have won for McLaren earlier though).

's funny, last year the red cars expected to be sh-t but turned out to be quite consistent. This year they're confidant again, so will probably be driving around in something akin to Friday afternoon Puntos...

They have won more drivers' championships and more constructors' championships than any other team in the history of the sport. By any measure, they are the most successful team in the history of F1 by some margin. I don't know how this translates to it being "very difficult to win" with them.
Or did you just mean that it was hard for Alonso to win with them?

Winky, I meant that last 30+ years only two drivers have managed to win championship with Ferrari (and quite a few have tried) so in my mind recently it indeed has been pretty difficult task - unless you were Schumi.

OK...So now we know...
Red Bull have done a bang up job again
Mercedes can be fast but they're fragile, again...
The Reds and Lotus are in the mix and it will be the quality of their drivers that sorts where they are again...
McLaren fail to use their big budget and expertise to maximum effect again...

Well that's a great start to the F1 season. Q1 ran ok 30 minutes late, Q2 and 3 to be run tomorrow morning! I doubt I'll be watching that......
Posted on: 16 March 2013 by osprey
Yes, this was a bit of a disappointing start. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I certainly won't lose my good night sleep for the rest of the qualifying.

Q2 & 3 start at 4am uk time.
And what's the getting that my stoopid body clock will wake me at 03.55?

Well done Kimi!
Red Bull will be back in Malaysia, but I'll savour this result for now

Stand by my pre-race summary!

Three champions on the podium. It looks we are going to have an interesting season ahead us.

I see that Alex Zanardi just won the Rome Marathon. Continues a great post motor racing career.

Seb is starting from pole again, the weather could add some extra drama.

If that had been sorted put as a genuine, team agreed dash for the flag it would have been an even better race. If I was Webber, my radio would go on the blink next time I was leading from the final stop.

From BBC News:
"Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel ignored team orders in the Malaysian GP to win an intense battle with Mark Webber.
Webber led after the final pit stops and the drivers were told to hold position to the end of the race but Vettel passed Webber after an intense battle with 13 laps to go.
Vettel has since apologised for the incident."
Hmm.

Can the drivers override the power settings transmitted from the pits ie was Vettel able to crank power up whilst Webber unknowingly left his at a lower setting? Eau de rat lingers in the air around this.

Vettel comes over as a sad little boy. Any respect he had been given, now lost. Red Bull off course will look after their golden boy of course. Marko saying they don't have No 1 and 2 drivers like Mercedes, bollox.
Team orders piss the fans (and drivers) off, ask Nico R about it as well.

Vettel is fighting for the title, Webber won't. Simples.

So the means justifies the end.
Posted on: 24 March 2013 by Tony Lockhart
Poor, poor show. Anymore team order abuse like that robbing us, the paying fans, of a 'RACE' and I'll finally give up and walk away.
Dickheads.

Webber had a chance to race Vettel for the win to the finish line, he was not able to do so - the team order was to protect Red Bull from potentially losing a car or two, they are no excuse for Webber to be unable to keep up with Vettel. Webber doesn't like being #2 but he is no #1.
