Dear Winki,
I very much hope that you enjoy what looks a proper classic.
New Record is a great set of running gear!
The frame looks very nicely made.
Should result in a huge enjoyment, even if it will not be quite as fast as more modern machines!
As you might say, "Cool!"

I probably won't actually be riding it much. It is more of a collectible. I'm surprised at how light it is, though. The frame is in great shape. Very straight and no dents. The colour, "Cromovelato" is Wilier's signature colour finish. It really shines in a way the photgraphs don't portray, The bike is 36 years old and shows the expected wear, but zero corrosion. The bars are bound in stitched leather.
Wilier, whilst an old brand (1906), was out of production for a while from 1952 and was reborn under different owners in 1969. Mine is therefore a "modern" Wilier, but a nice bike from the era that saw the end of Merckx's career.
Dear Winki,
If you ever fancy cycling in UK, bring the old lady and match up with me [now much less use since the fractured tibia] and GML, for some Hereford and Worcester cycling, or Norfolk.
Totally serious, if it appeals.
My Carlton is eight years younger by date of sale, though it was a window display for a while before that ...
Happy New Year from George
Hope everyone is having a great Christmas and a Happy New Year to all here!
