I just found a couple of books that I read a few years ago and was just wondering how many others you would have read.  Those were the days, hunn! Please feel free to name your top five...

I knew these people here were too clever. I must be the only one who ever read these books while everyone else was  reading Das Kapital or  Foucault's Pendulum both of which are excellent exercises in Human Psyche. Damn!

I read a book once ... it had a cover that said "Don't Panic" then I found it was available as an audio book .... if you've read two books then you have read twice as much as me ... I do read manuals and things I have to read at work.

I couldn't name a top five as that is more books than I've read

I like Joanne Harris and have listened to her stories being read out on the radio.

Perhaps if I had a Kindle then I'd read more books - I think it is physical books that I find a pain and prefer them in digital format ... no more book cases cluttering up the house and taking up valuable space where I can store vinyl records.

Since I have only little imagination and I can agree Rob Fleming about the books I just copy his list:

#1. The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler
#2. Red Dragon by Thomas Harris
#3. Sweet Soul Music: Rhythm and Blues and the Southern Dream of Freedom by Peter Guralnick
#4. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
#5. Something by William Gibson or Kurt Vonnegut
(#5a. Neuromancer by William Gibson; #5b. Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut)

Although Arthur C. Clarke said Douglas Adams' use of "don't panic" was perhaps the best advice that could be given to humanity it is also important knowing where one's towel is.

Now how about five best side one track ones of all time? Anyone?
