Unitiserve SSD - Factory Restore and Web Access issues

Posted by: busaganashi on 08 January 2013

I just got my US and updated the software to 1.6d from 1.6b. I bought it second-hand and it's about a year old.  I could access it via the web before updating. The update appears to have worked as I can see it from my iPad and using the nServe Mac program. I used to be able to access it via the browser and now I can't. Any suggestions?

Also, having bought it second-hand, I'd like to restore it to factory defaults and make sure there isn't anything on the SSD drive I don't want, etc. I assume I can't rip music to the SSD drive...

Thanks for any help in advance.

If you run the desktop client [from a pc] you should be able to tweak all the settings.

Also you can connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the US and use it built in interface.

I scanned through the manual, there is no mention of factory defaulting the US.

If you cannot get to the US via http://the-US's-IP-adddress you may need to reach out to Phil or Steve to nudge it.

I have a US that just would not update to 1.6c. Phill got on it and it was magically 1.6d!

You are not allowed to see and alter the system firmware wich should be the only ting stored on the unit. If the previous user have hacked the unit you would probably notice, however Phil can do magical things to the servers remotely so contact support if you are worried.
