airpot express problem with new minipad,

Posted by: o.j. on 09 January 2013

Hy ,bought a 64 gb minipad and anairportexpress.the express is my new homenetwork router and works perfekt.

wanted to go digital optical fromairport express to my stereosystem (cambridge d/A converter,

and my problem is;wlan music that is in my minipad is often disturbed .srange tones or quiet for

moments.

My computer buddy plays the same music insame format wthout any problem fromhis airnotebook into my airportexpress and into my stereosystem.

He said:te problem could be:the lan output of my minitab is less than from hisairbook.

and he suggestes the following solutions:

to bring my airport express with longer cables a little bit higher in teh room for better radar wave tuniing.

do not know the correct vocabulary, sorry.

other solution ;to go for an airport extreme. i would prefer that as a solution.

S o what do you think ,will my problems be solved.

i mean ,if apple produces wlan ipods and minipads,it seems to mee a must that they work with airport

routers together. i live in an old building with only twelve flats, and my other old laptop

that has no w lan is connected by cable to the airportexpress.

any Ideas ,friends????

Hi OJ, your post is a great example of iOS keyboard constraints on the mini!

i have an (old) airport express connected to my Naim amp by analogue connections and this works fine with music streamed from iPad and iPhone using iTunes or spotify.

Is there an ethernet cable connected to your airport express?

if it is your wireless signal from iPad to airport as your friend suggests it should be easy enough to test by having them close together and if there are no problems then wireless strength is your issue.

Hy,

it does not matter in my system,if i use the airportexpress wiireless in combination with my lynksis router

or as a standalone router connected with the provider modem.

my providers installed in my home a modem that is not able to work wireless.

the i pad  sound is always disturbed.

we had also the idea to bring the two things (airport express and mini pad) together .

i would say :the problem is not that the signalpath does not work.

The problem is that the wlan -connecction is disturbed throug other signals.

Today We made  an attempt in the shop of an local hifidealer.

A lot of streaming and network components  and routers and servers are working there.

They have the Airportextreme there, and my minipad worked perfect .

Tomorrow i will go for an airport extreme.

I ( my Friend,an real computer expert) ,will install it at my home.

And this SHOULD work.

for me it does not matter, that that apple piece costs again 150 euros .

and as i understand it makes a "bell" that saves the signals against problems from outside.

I try Apple for the first time .

i am not pro or against that brand.

To me it should be a solution for the very  simple thing ( playing music wireless from my minipad to my

Hifisystem)  i want it to do.

As an computer NON expert , i suppose that must be possible.

If not ,i  wonder, out of what idea people buy apples wlan i pods with gbs of music on it ,

while it does not work together with airport express.???

(the most simple  wireless  way to get a digital music signal into an conventional old fashiond hifisystem)

without any other computer in the household :

those Two apple-products have to work together .

tommorrow i will know.

An extreme is just a wirelss router, nothing more nothing less. You ipad does not need an apple router tomfunction, any brand will do.
