Now available is the full version of the Naim n-Serve for Mac app, previously released as a 'public beta'.

There may be a hint in the link.

This is from the latest Naim Connect magazine:

"Finally, users of Android devices will be

pleased to know that Android versions of

our apps are on our road map and we will

keep people posted about their progress....."

This is Nserve for MacOS, not for IOS. It sort of epitomises the issue naim has now and going forward. Lots and lots of devices.

What about a linux desktop version, or Blackberry phone version, on windows phone version or or or..

It was no doubt a lot simpler when they were knocking out 52s

What no apps for the Kindle Fire? And what about Sinclair Spectrum users?

i hope Naim concentrates on DACs and amplifiers and speakers .... I don't think writing apps for every device that comes out is very productive.

However, it is good to see Naim releasing software for OS X rather than just Windows ... This is the 21st century

Has anyone actually found this in Mac's app store?

I found nothing but the iOS apps and on Naim's site I find only a link to the beta version. If someone knows how to find this 'full' version, please pass it along. Thanks.

Go onto the Mac app store and search for "Naim Audio" and you'll find it

Did find it in 'snow leopards' app store, but not in itunes app store. Tried downloading several times, but no luck. Beta version worked fine prior to my trashing it to make room for the new 'full' version. Anyone having similar experiences, or is it just me, and is there has anyone noted any differences between the beta and full versions?

I think you're looking in the wrong place.  I use the 'App Store' icon that lives in the dock of the most current version of OS X (Mountain Lion), and that's where it is.  Via the web, it's called the OS X App Store or OS X Mountain Lion app store.

Are you looking for it using a mac running mountain lion?

Posted on: 14 January 2013 by Ecolnago

Running 'snow leopard' 10.6.8. The beta version loaded and ran fine. Found the n-serve app released 8 Jan 13 in the dock's app store (but not in itunes app store). It will ask me if I wan to install, but I get perpetual spinning spokes with no end results when I give it a try. Never really encountered difficulties with downloads (of any kind) before. Has it worked for anyone else?

Posted on: 14 January 2013 by garyi

Where are you getting the spinning beach ball when trying to download it, or when trying to launch it once downloaded?

Posted on: 15 January 2013 by Ecolnago

No beach ball involved, just the little spinning wheel on the top bar of the app store window (supposedly) showing progress after initiating 'install'. It just keeps spinning and never stops. That's why I'm curious if anyone out there has actually got this to app to install on their Mac. Want to make sure it actually has worked for someone before I spend time/effort to resolve why it won't on my Mac.

Yes I have downloaded it from the App Store and installed it (the latest release, as well as the beta before that) and it runs just fine on Mountain Lion.  I'm at work right now and on my Windows machine cannot find it.  I was going to check if it requires at a minimum Lion or Mountain Lion to see if that's your problem.

Ecolnago there is a problem with yours. I suggest you log out of the app store, quit the app, reload and log back in then try the download again.

Posted on: 15 January 2013 by Ecolnago

Thanks for the replies, and good/glad to know it does install, but no luck here. Signed out, closed and re-entered app store, but still no go. Google'd 'macbook app store downloads problems' and got a couple buzillion leads. Glanced at a few of the threads and resolved they were all over the place looking for solutions with no real resolution in sight.

Thinking I might just pull the beta version out of the 'trash' and call it a day.

Apologies if this has already been covered, but does nServe for Mac mean you don't need the Desktop Client or the browser? In other words, does it cover all the functionality of both these apps?

I don't own a Mac, but would love to ditch the PC.

Thanks,

Keith

AFAIU from this thread, it covers all their functionalities. Does it? Is anything missing here that is covered in DTC?

Thanks Aysil,

This link has a post from Phil Harris in which he says that it does everything the DTC does, so happy days :-)

And I finally did get it to download from the Mac App Store.

For whatever reason (I did take my Macbook to the Apple store, and none of the 'geniuses' could figure it out!) I had to go at it by setting up a new user account and installing from there. Still have full functionality of my iTunes app store, but not my MAS, w/o going through the new user account. Just thought I'd throw that out there by chance someone else encounters a similar situation.

Have n-serve on my iphone and ipad, and even though they both function perfectly well, it's just nice to being able to engage from my macbook, especially since that's what I'm on most of the time anyway.
