What was number one when you were conceived?

What about you?

Well, as far as my Dad was concerned, I presume my Mum was...
(See Tony your type of humour is infectious!)
Don dark downtown York.
The moment of conception is not something I feel like asking my folks about.....'You're My World' by Cilla Black was number 1 when I was born though. G
I've had the Hampshire campsite where I was conceived pointed out to me

Jeez, the middle of 1946, can't be anything good.
(Ghost)Riders in the Sky, A Cowboy Legend: Vaughn Monroe. Seriously!
The evenly brothers, all I have to do is dream--- according to the dates and google.
Would never have known that if not for the thread
Well done

Evenly Bros - who they ?
Mine was Everly Bros as well - Cathy's Clown
Had a further play with dates and found out that the number one when I lost my virginity was ....
Use It Up And Wear It Out by Odyssey
Depending on the exact gestation period I could be:-
Al Martino..Here in My Heart
or;_
Jo Stafford..You Belong To Me.
I seem to remember Dad being an Al Martino fan although I'm sure not to the point of arousal!
Imagine this thread in years to come:-
Smack My Bitch Up
Evenly Bros - who they ?
Mine was Everley Bros as well - Cathy's Clown
Cathy's Clowns Pocket
Hmmm... a cunning plan to get the general age of Naim owners?
At Birth Mine was Guy Mitchell - Rock-A-Billy. Assuming standard gestation period it could have been Doris Day - Whatever Will Be Will Be (Que Sera, Sera) at conception. Oh well who cares?

Or a weird quest to find out what got them ' in the mood'.
Nine months before my time of birth:
Paul Anka - Diana
A song inspired by a Goddess? ...no less!
And then came my time of birth:
Who’s sorry now, who’s sorry now
Whose heart is achin’ for breakin’ each vow
Who’s sad and blue, who’s cryin’ too
Just like I cried over you
Right to the end, just like a friend
I tried to warn you somehow
You had your way, now you must pay
I’m glad that you’re sorry now
Right to the end, just like a friend
I tried to warn you somehow
You had your way, now you must pay
I’m glad that you’re sorry now
Seems for me, Heartbreak Hotel, Elvis Presley!
Born late, in the first week of December 1961, I was due up to a fortnight earlier.
By dead reckoning, it was either Elvis Presley singing, "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" or Petula Clark singing "Sailor."
My parents married in February of that year and had three weeks honeymoon in Norway before my father returned with his new Norwegian bride to Herefordshire. The first thing she did was see about delaying starting a family. Oops, too late!
And a big mistake ...

Another Elvis baby here...All Shook Up (July, 1957).
OK, Tony, you would have to be a dipstick, wouldn't you! Now everyone knows that the 'forties are not included.
Oh, well, since the War wasn't over yet, I found a separate reference, and it was the Andrews Sisters singing "Rum and Coca Cola". Pretty insightful, since I turned out to be an alcoholic and had to stop sipping the sauce!
As an afterthought, my father once showed me the tree under which I was allegedly conceived, and since there were no boom boxes about in those days, I don't think the song actually had any influence on the situation.
Best regards,
