How to Clean the End of an Optical Cable

My Mac Mini is connected to a NAIM DAC with an optical cable.
The cable has been unplugged and plugged again a couple of times and, since I do not live in a white room, the cable tip may have got some dust.
Is there a recommended way to clean the optical cable tip ?
We use these in the networking industry (or a shirt sleeve if the customer isn't looking
