How many more concerts to save the world?

I have just watched  a documentary on BBC4 on the Bangladesh George Harrison and friend's concert.

It seems not a lot have changed throught  the yearsas  we have seen countless efforts to raise awareness to save the world from some of its worst disasters.

Band Aid, Live Aid, etc

Am I being too cynical  to think that no matter how we  try,  it's up to the governments of these countries to get their situation sorted in the first place?
