Midnight Blue - its hard to find such a recording these days,  the band is on the floor in front of you, each instrument is pin sharp & stays in the same place & the drum kit is actually a real drum kit wide,  not all the way from left to right & wider than a house (pet hate)

This was recorded in 1963, forget the tape hiss its one of the best

This was in my list too. A superb jazz guitar album. It is said this was Alfred Lion's (of Blue Note) favourite Blue Note recording. Unlike a lot of jazz guitar albums this one doesn't sound like elevator music and, to me doesn't sound at all dated. A jazz classic. Good taste Mike.

I guess these would be classified as jazz/metal fusion.  Chris Poland (formerly of Megadeth) is lead guitar in Ohm and man can he really play.
