I love this. It reminds me of my childhood,
Graham.
Midnight Blue - its hard to find such a recording these days, the band is on the floor in front of you, each instrument is pin sharp & stays in the same place & the drum kit is actually a real drum kit wide, not all the way from left to right & wider than a house (pet hate)
This was recorded in 1963, forget the tape hiss its one of the best
This was in my list too. A superb jazz guitar album. It is said this was Alfred Lion's (of Blue Note) favourite Blue Note recording. Unlike a lot of jazz guitar albums this one doesn't sound like elevator music and, to me doesn't sound at all dated. A jazz classic. Good taste Mike.
a few I am really enjoying lately -
Ohm: - Circus of Sound
OHMphrey - Posthaste
Morglbl - Brutal Romance
I guess these would be classified as jazz/metal fusion. Chris Poland (formerly of Megadeth) is lead guitar in Ohm and man can he really play.
