NDS to NDX Streamer Upgrade/Playlists

I own an NDS and LOVE it... it sounds amazing.  I'm using it with a UnitiServe and a 3 TB (RAID 0) NAS so I've ripped over 1000 CDs to the NAS and now have a large library.

Does anyone know about playlists and how to "move" them from one streamer to the next if I upgrade.  Does the playlist file live on the streamer, the server, or the NAS?  I'd hate to have to re-do all the labor in either ripping all these discs or in building duplicate playlists.  It seems as if I should be able to just copy this NAS to a new one, and bring up a new steamer with a copy of all my rippped CDs on a new storage device on the network, and, hopefully, have any playlists that I've built come over with the new copy of all the content?  Any ideas or insights?  Many thanks.

If you are referring to Nstream playlists, these are stored on the device running nstream like an iPad.

The playlists refer to the media on your NAS which contains an address a unique I'd created by your upnp server. So if this doesn't change your playlist can be played on several network players..

My own experience with playlists is "it just don't 'appen like you expect".

You'll not have to re-rip your CDs if you change NAS's, just copy from the old to the new, but playlist integrity continues to baffle me !

Once again, I'd be bowing to Simon's detailed knowledge for a fuller explanation.

But look on the bright side... how much fun is it creating a new playlist?

...and how much easier will it be when we have the Fast Forward facility on our NDS, so you don't have to sit through all those intros when compiling a playlist?

...my thoughts FWIW !
