QFinder not finding QNAP

Posted by: Ptangyang on 03 February 2013

Hi folks - any ideas? I've hard reset after having a few flakey issues with the Nas and the Uniti reporting errors and that it could not browse the server. It now cant find it at all, so I cant make any further tweaks or diagnostics. Not sure what I can do...?

Cheers

This is  avery technical reply!!!! I have had this issue sometimes and it has often been down to the IP address and its lease time.

I have got round it by reserving an address at the top of the range.

Hi you will have to look at the settings on the QNAP and your router and review your user manuals.

Using a Qnap manual is easier said than done. It's about 250 pages and far to complicated for a novice. At least that's what I found.

I had the same problem with either Qnap finder or Netbak replicator, can't remember which. It wouldn't load from the toolbar or shortcut, but would start when clicked Start, all programs, qnap, finder.

Do you have critical data on the drives?

if no pull them, then put just the one in slot one and start from scratch.

YOU WILL LOSE ANY DATA ON THE DRIVES.

i had this happen once withmy qnap and for me that was the only way back.

Sounds like you need to put the QNAP in recovery mode, here are the instructions
