Great show. Yes, I recognised the Rega turntables, LP12 and Noel Gallagher's Dynavector 10 x 5 cartridge.

Sad that the golden age (1965-1983) ended so long ago. Interesting how the challenges posed by the rise of the cassette & the portable Sony Walkman somewhat mirror today's situation with Ipod's etc. challenging (understatement) the CD. It looks like we may be going to the days of my father's youth when single tracks (7inch singles) dominated music consumption.

Really enjoyed it. Any idea what those huge speakers with the ribbon tweeters were, that were behind Mick Wall

No feet on Trevor Nelson's LP12. Is that common?

I thought it was absolutely spiffing stuff, well paced and narrated, with (for once) some decent talking heads.

Good on Trevor Nelson for having an LP12 and lots of vinyl.

Very interesting and enjoyable. Just one gripe, that twelve-year old little **** in glasses and his patronising opinions.

I'll have to see if i can get it online.  I've seen a few turntables in movies, not well versed in them like I am in cars.  Friday  did lots of good paperwork settling dad's estate, my own trust and deposited a big check. Well chuffed with myself.  New place near me Hops and Links, they have craft beers from all over, good to see us brewing good stuff.  the sausages are sometimes exotic like duck and an alligator one I haven't tried.  4 guys who worked there discussing work, included me once I spoke up. Great fun, told them I did hard physical labor at their age. They were having too much fun and a beer, working hours.  One 30 year old turns out had a turntable, we discussed Stones and Beatles,( I was a teen in the 60s) his wife is getting him to listen to Dylan and he gets her to listen to Neil Young.  Great fun to chat with, nice that they remembered that I like dark beer and had a new one for me to taste, mmmmm good.

Plus good taste in speakers, B&W 802s seen in the background. He should take the grilles off though, they sound better without them.

...not hingeless though.

I noticed that too. The LP12 was an old '80s model with the red button and a nice fluted plinth.

Lovely!

I know those CH plinths are lovely and all that, but for me, an LP12 isn't an LP12 unless it's a fluted afro or walnut one. Non-fluted plinths just look "tubby".

Recorded it last night and just watched it.....really enjoyed it all...and yes I saw the B&W 802Ds along with the L12 with no feet!

But the selection of LPs, music, video and interviews were all excellent.

Shame Danny Baker couldn't have been as good.

Hi Richard,

If you search for "Abbey Road Studios Tickets and Dates" with C Tickets, you will find the tour you are looking for . I'm tempted at some time as well.

Enjoy
