Bedsit Disco Queen

Tracey Thorn's new autobiography, Bedsit Disco Queen, has just been published, and very good it is too. It's very well written, and is totally unpretentious. I followed her career from the beginning, so there are some great memories for me of time at Uni and beyond in the 80s. How she managed to be in two bands and study at the same time is amazing, but she did. And the first solo album recorded in a shed for £167, playing with Paul Weller at the ICA, etc etc. Now, where did I put that Marine Girls CD?

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm a huge EBTG and Tracey Thorn fan. Looks like an essential read

There's an interview with Tracey in today's Guardian too. She may not have been good at promoting her albums, but she's sure good at promoting her book! Good on her, it's very good. Halfway through now.
