HDX start/ stop during stored rip playback

Posted by: crackie on 15 February 2013

I am wondering if other HDX owners have had this issue.

Mine is the HDX 2TB current version - one year old.

Started today, during HDX internal stored rips & in random areas of random tracks it would stop then start again & it is still doing it. Only for up to a second , sometimes less.

The HDX internet radio is unaffected, plays fine.

I really hope this is not the start of a hard drive about to fail !

I emailed Phill- he is on leave (lucky Phil !)

Cheers,

Peter

edit: I just remembered Chris Murphy, when he took over distribution, (thank's Chris !) sent me an upgrade disk to run version 1.6d software upgrade. I'll try this & see what happens.

Maybe a stupid questio: have you tried switching the HDX off and back on?

Thank's Michel I have , twice.

Managed to find an old thread with similar playback fault as mine - software upgrade fixed their fault.

I'll report back if my upgrade worked.

Peter,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I have the 1tb model and running on 1.6c software.

Have never experienced what you are describing. Please keep us posted, would like to know the cause (and solution).

I take it you are not pulling tracks from a NAS? So assume its not a network issue?

Yep, upgrade from 1.6b to version 1.6d has done the trick . Playing rips for 30min after the upgrade & no more drop outs (Fingers crossed)

Thought I was up for a new hard drive there for a minute.
