Awards Ceremonies

I've often wondered why the BRIT, GRAMMY, BAFTA etc. are even televised, they are industry gongs not really aimed at the public. Has anyone ever watched these ceremonies, and why ?

You cannot criticise the cow without tasting the milk. Just like skimmed milk, I've watched them and they all suck!

But then again it was the same in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's...

Get the drift?

I would watch them, but I have some paint drying that demands my immediate & undivided attention...

That, and I would need a TV signal...but the above would still apply even if I did.

They are like all "industry" awards, film, TV, music, cars, boats, washing machines, ore excavators,  & on & on .........  all the same except the ore excavators might have more/better free drinks.

Its only the specific industry that gets excited & usually for self gratification reasons.

To be fair I was glad to see rap giving way to people who could sing and play instruments at last nights Brits.  G

Don't watch any award ceremonies for anything, I have a life to lead. They are just an excuse for backslapping and mutual masturbation self-congratulation.

What Brits?

TBH the last time I watched The Brits it was very amusing with Samantha Fox and a very out of place Mick Fleetwood making a hamfisted job of presenting. I've not watched it since. I am very selective about what TV I watch and awards ceremonies are way down on my list. A total waste of listening time IMO.
