Uniti 1, 2, and unitilite di(tri)lemma

My first ever post here so go easy on me.
I have just sold a streaming DAC/Preamp of very high reputation on Ebay. Not because I wasn't impressed with the sound, no it was lovely, rather the thought of trying to get it working each time just made me want to throw it out of the window. It was a case of switch it on, launch iphone app, wait, wait some more, restart streamer, and again, then choose track to play, then restart crashed iphone app, then give up.
Now take that scenario and apply it to my poor wife who just wants to listen to some music but is understandably not remotely interested in running an A380 preflight check before hearing something.
So I switched over to a logitech duet lying redundant in the cellar. Sound? well, ok I suppose with a small external DAC in the loop but it is a massive step backwards really. Ease of use? pretty much fantastic, instant, available non geek friendly. But that's not enough is it..and it's why I'm on the NAIM forum.
I am really really really taken by the uniti 2. But not unreasonably NAIM want about 1k more than I have which puts me squarely in unitilite or uniti 1 second hand territory.
One further bit of background before I get to the question: I have Spendor 8SE speakers and an old but excellent Boulder power amp.
So the 2 questions I have are will the 50 watts on either unit be troubled by the Spendors? and given the fact that I have a decent ($4,000 when it was made in 2001) power amp which may be worth using, which of the uniti 1 and the lite would have the better Pre / Dac/ streaming bits and bobs?
I know a listen at the dealer is in order and I will do that before buying but I would love some opinions.
Thanks
