Unitiserve SSD - Changing NAS / Name

Posted by: andrew mcmullins on 08 March 2013

I was sure this must have come up before but couldnt find it with the search.

I have backed up the rip files from my Uniti NAS and need to restore them to a new NAS.

The name of the NAS is not identical so it cant "just pick it up".

Does anyone know how to do this please?

Whats a uniti NAS? You need to be a bit more specific in what you are saying, or perhaps I am tired but your question is not making sense.

If you have two NASes and you want the data on one to be on the other, then its not as easy as it should be, rsync or FTP is your friend, unless they are the same brand in which case there might be a bespoke solution.

Right having seen your title I guess yo mean you have a unitiserve ssd and its files are ripped to a NAS. You have upgraded that NAS so now want the files onto it.

Please state the two NASes in question.

I managed to get it to work.  I had to use both the web interface and the desktop client to do it though.

Just in case anyone else needs to do this the way I managed it was.

1. Using NDM (Naim Desktop Client) under "Tools / Scanable Network Shares" add the share in.

2. Using the web interface under "System / Music Stores / Manage Music Stores" delete the old share

3. Using the web interface under "System / Music Stores / Add New Music Store" add in the new NAS

The web interface gave a warning about deleting everything on that store - it didnt.
