7 pre-amplifiers on N stream device.

I really need some guidance and advice now. I first read the manual but to no avail.

I have a Nait XS and a ND5xs and yesterday I hooked them up to control the volume with my PodTouch. No problem but now I see on the N stream interface 7 preamplifiers listed. Number 5 is saying N stream. What to do? Disable all of them except no 5? Or disable al lof them except number 1? Or let it stay as it is? Help very much wanted.
