High def flac in a zip file?

Channel.Classics delivers high def flac files to you in a zip file. Does anyone know if this is harming the music? Is zip lossless?

Zipping is lossless. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Bowers and Wilkins' hi def downloads are zipped too. They used to have a dedicated download manager app. but now you download from the web browser. i haven't noticed any audible differences and I'm not expecting too.

What Keith said.

It seems to work a treat.

Well, I am happy to hear all of this. And Bowers and Wilkins is a site I haven't explored yet.

I downloaded the zip flac of the Jason Parker Quartets version of Nick Drake's Five Leaves Left.  It's a very simple recording (no double tracking etc) and sounds superb.  Best of all it's available for free and you can pay whatever you feel is appropriate.

I did highlight this on the forum but nobody was interested. Suggest you try this as a starting point. If you know FLL the JPQ version is totally different and a testament to the quality of the songs.

Would be very interested to hear what you think.
