AIFF for iPod

Posted by: willie45 on 23 March 2013

HI

I've ripped most of my CDs now and I'm looking for some help.

Does anyone know the best way of making an MP3 copy of all my AIFF music so that I can use it on my ipod?

AFAIK if I use iTunes or similar, I'd just end up getting an MP3 version in the same folder and alongside my AIFF version and this would be a headache.

Also is there a way I can do this and keep the metadata attached to these.

I'm looking for a really simple thing where I can set it up and let it run overnight or whatever, wake up, and then stick the new files in iTunes and copy them to my ipod.

I'm guessing I'm asking too much

Is the only way the tedious one I mentioned above ?

Open itunes, plug your device in, click on the "device" in the left panel of itunes  and under the Summary page > options you can set the file size that your selected songs will be downloaded to your ipod.

This way there is no need to batch-convert and you won't get double-ups of file types/sizes in your library.
