MinimServer

Is anyone using MininServer with their NAS and Naim network player?
Sound quality seems better than ReadyDLNS from Netgear but no Album art showing
Why would that be?
Have the same issue streaming from a Mac - it should pick up cover.jpg or folder.jpg but doesn't seem to do so. Has the ability to stream flac as wav24 which although i hate to admit it sounds rather good.
The guys at Minim have identified it as a bug in nStream in the way it handles URL characters - from the posts in the forum it seems that Naim are aware and dealing with it. - Wonder when the next release is due?

The author has created a workaround for the art issue in the next version (0.64) which works perfectly. He let me have a copy of the beta, perhaps PM him in his forum and he may share a copy or a release date
Great piece of software
Does Minim allow indexing of classical composers by last name first ?
Thanks
Jan
Not sure yet Jan - like Wazza69 I've testing 0.64 (kindly sent by the author) to look at how it handles cover art with nStream - more later.

Thanks Tog. This is a frustration with n-Stream and n-Serve, so I was wondering if it's only Naim or a general problem with composers' names.
I tried installing MinimServer 0.63 on my QNAP TS-112 last night along with the Java software required and could not get many of my ALAC files to play. However, I was able to see the album art. n-Stream was able to see the server and connect to the Superuniti. Perhaps I missed a step in the process. Would like to know if anyone else is having issues. Would like to find an alternative to Twonky.
I’ve had quite a large music collection on my Qnap 259 for some time now, but never been happy with upnp servers. I’ve tried twonky, qnap’s own, Logitech’s, plex – all of which never ran very well with my naim hifi.
I’ve just installed minim and the difference is amazing! Everything is faster, no problems with folder orders and scanning my 30,000 + files took minutes instead of days. Very happy.
