Horrific Basketball Injury from last night

Google "Kevin Ware", this is probably the worst injury I've seen in any sport, properly horrific...

Truly horrific. It's hard to tell from the video whether the knee totally dislocates or it's a break in the proximal tibia/fibula. The latter would be unusual unless there was an underlying lesion in the bone causing a weakness. I hope it's not a career ending injury.

I remember the Washington Redskins Joe Theismann planted his leg he went over and it snapped.

I've changed. Years ago I'd have laughed my pods off at this, but now I won't even watch it. My first aid instincts would kick in if I witnessed something so horrible, for some strange reason.

I was living in DC in 1985 and attended that game. Theismann's leg planted, and then he was hit by Lawrence "LT" Taylor. I had my binoculars right on it. It was a...shock. I mean, people break their legs all the time, but the slow-motion track wreck effect...and just being able to see it all so clearly...it was horrible, and unforgettable.

I was using the bathroom last night when that young hoops player broke his leg. Upon returning to the TV, and hearing what had happened, I immediately changed the channel. Had zero interest in seeing the replay.
